Nike Element Concepts

Nike t-shirt graphics, inspired by elements in nature.

Through advanced photocompositing, I created dynamic Nike logos infused with fire, ice, earth, electricity, and more.

These nature-based swooshes embody the brand’s energy, movement, and harmony with the environment, making them dynamic and relevant to Nike’s contemporary design themes.

Charli XCX brat summer generator

Lots of my creative work/background is at the intersection of product design, content creation, and pop culture, and I had the exciting opportunity to contribute to Charli XCX's latest album, Brat Summer. Tapped by someone close to the creative team, I leveraged my content and design skills to develop digital mockups and render wireframes of a quick viral idea that embodied the bold, rebellious energy of the album.

By the weeks before the album release, the word "brat" was starting to take the Internet by storm, and we aimed to capitalize on that momentum in a fun, memorable way.

So I created a "random" word generator for the album’s landing page that filled in the phrase "Have a ____ Summer"—always inserting "brat" to keep the campaign cheeky and on-brand.

This playful interaction aligned perfectly with the album’s theme and created a unique touchpoint for fans.

Part of my map-out in Figma, designing each asset from scratch to ensure a cohesive visual identity:

This project honestly felt like a natural extension of my work creating content as @mattacrylic, where I’m constantly operating at the intersection of social media, pop culture, content and media. Staying plugged into the Internet zeitgeist allows me to craft content and designs that resonate deeply with audiences, and this Brat Summer was a perfect project for me to zero in on using my particular blend of skills.

hope you had a good brat summer.

@MattAcrylic

Every month, I’m painting for millions of people around the world, creating original pieces of content sitting at the intersection of music, culture, and miniaturism.

I’ve done work for Halsey, Jon Batiste, John Mayer, and others!

NYY x HC

Giving a hardcore edge to the clean-cut New York Yankees.

Inspired by the team’s dominance and legacy, I created bold, edgy designs that reflect and emphasize the raw energy of the Bronx – something the current, polished aesthetic doesn’t always account for.

Graphics as t-shirt designs because it’s not like the Yankees’ legal team is its own Murderer’s Row.

These graphics translate the toughness of the city and its music scene into streetwear apparel, featuring t-shirt designs that embody the rebellious spirit while still paying homage to the Yankees' legendary history.

The Yankees play in the Bronx, the toughest borough of NY. Let’s show that sh*t.

CBY: Digital to Physical

As part of Converse’s “Customized By You” team, I design, create, and print unique sneaker customizations while exploring the rich material history of the most iconic sneaker of all-time – the Chuck Taylor.

Specializing in digital design, direct-to-garment printing, embroidery, and more, I’ve worked on Chucks for brands like Meta, Google, Netflix, Foot Locker, and many others.

2023 Flagship Skull Graphic

I created a 2023 signature shoe design for Converse’s Flagship Store in the heart of Soho, NYC – ordered and worn by customers globally.

My bold and iconic graphic design features a hand-illustrated skull and scrawled script ‘Converse,’ and is proudly displayed on Chuck Taylors around the world, representing a fusion of urban street style and the timeless appeal of the Converse brand.

Integrating a rebellious, hand-illustrated skull motif with references to New York City's dynamic culture, on the Chuck Taylor silhouette, I’ve crafted a sneaker design that speaks to the heart of urban fashion and self-expression.

“The Outsiders” on Broadway

I had the great privilege to mock up & print 40+ pairs of Chuck 70s for the cast and crew of “The Outsiders” on Broadway.

This particular pair was presented to Director Danya Taymor, who won the 2024 Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical for “The Outsiders.”

Stranger Things on Broadway

Converse was commissioned by Netflix to create Chucks for the cast of the “Stranger Things: The First Shadow” now playing in London’s ‘Broadway’ in the West End.

I had the opportunity to print all 60+ pairs of sneakers paying homage to the protagonists’ fictitious high school Hawkins High. The sneakers were worn at their premiere.

Foot Locker 50th Anniversary

I mocked up and printed custom Chuck 70s for the the big wigs at Foot Locker.

Fitted with gold grommets and gold laces, they were worn on the red carpet at Foot Locker’s 50th Anniversary Gala.

CONVERSE x TURNSTILE

Social & newsletter graphic concepts for Converse’s collaboration with Grammy-nominated hardcore band Turnstile.

Blurring genres by combining DIY punk elements and colorfully nostalgic nods to 90s skate culture – a perfect fit for a collaboration with Converse.

Matching Turnstile’s fusion of intensity and fun, by pulling inspiration from their gritty undergound punk style and their colorful, dynamic freshness.

CONVERSE x SWAROVSKI

Social concepts for Converse’s collaboration with iconic crystal & glass purveyor Swarovski.

For this project, I developed graphic concepts that blended the iconic edge of Converse with the luxury of Swarovski crystals. The designs capture the brilliance and precision of Swarovski's signature glasswork, creating visually striking pieces that elevated Converse’s legacy of classic footwear to a new level of sophistication.

This collaboration showcased my ability to merge contrasting brands into cohesive, trend-forward visuals that highlight the best of both worlds.

CONVERSE x GOLF WANG

Graphic concepts for Converse’s collaboration with rapper & musician Tyler, the Creator’s brand “GOLF WANG”

Capturing the vibrant and youthful vibe of Tyler’s GOLF brand, the imagery is composited by me and based on the brand’s colorful, playful, and sometimes whimsical vibe.

From social media visuals to footwear graphics, this collaboration was all about embracing youthful expression and artistic freedom, capturing the essence of Tyler’s vision.

Album Artwork Design

Having started a band and run a small record label, promotional and marketing design were at the forefront. I honed my photo-compositing craft long ago by creating album artwork and promotional graphics for the bands in my sphere.

I design with intent, utilizing color theory and composition principles to evoke emotions that align with the artist's message. By optimizing artwork for various platforms, I help artists stand out in a crowded digital landscape, delivering stunning visuals that enhance brand identity and connect with fans.

Crisis King

I was tasked with capturing the apocalyptic elegance of the trio’s brutal thrash metal album aptly named “Planetary Suicide.”

Fun with typography

An Illustrator exercise where I take random fonts or shapes and develop a series of wordmarks[/logos] for a brand.

I start with a word and morph it into something else; turning a series of squares into a legible wordmark, or a morphing a phrase in a certain typeface into another series of thematic shapes.

Creating new shapes and stylized fonts makes me think outside the bounds of normal typefaces and forces me to get extra creative with variations of the same phrase over and over again.

My career began in Product Marketing in Tech (B2B SaaS) where I learned to speak both design and technical language. I’ve led sales enablement strategies, content marketing campaigns, and web redesigns.

My expertise lies in blending my content, design, and product strategy skillsets to get the right products and content into the right hands.

Specializing in content management, product design, and customer successes n prototyping, UX/UI, visual design, user research, and product design, I’ve been in charge of terabytes of sales & marketing collateral, the editing & distributing of sales assets, and worked with C-Level executives on content strategy and internal product design/UX for 7 years.

***Work samples are available upon request

Managing content and UX for my Product Marketing Team, I designed and launched a CMS that supercharged sales enablement and enhanced the workflow of 1200+ daily users, globally, resulting in a 25% increase in lead generation.

I developed the information architecture, site mapping, backend, and branding, allowing SME’s to curate their own content.

Just for fun:

My product design skills lent me to several personal projects centered around app design, specifically user interfaces.
